Calm and Bright
I never imagined, given how this season has begun, I'd be able to write - with all honesty - "Today was calm, perfect for enjoying a walk on the beach, but not necessarily for turtle discovery. One nest was found, number 89 in Zone 3. 104 eggs were relocated successfully!. There was a NNC in Zone 1, and that's about it! See you next week!

If you need us, we will be down on the beach tracking turtle nests!
Six nests and one non-nesting crawl were found today. It was a busy morning with great teamwork from all of the Tuesday Turtlers. People shifted to different zones, lending helping hands where needed. It was a beautiful day on the beach!

Windy Wednesday
Today's wind was a force to be reckoned with. Walking the beach felt eerily similiar to what it must have felt for Luke Skywalker on Tatooine. In Zone 1, it's certainly possible there was some turtle action. But it would have been extremely difficut to see tracks or a body pit, although we walked every inch and looked carefully. Otherwise the morning brought Nest 60 in Zone 4, Nest 61 in Zone 6, an NNC (non-nesting crawl) in Zone 2 and 4 NNC's in Zone 4. The weather for tomor

Some nests for Thursday
Well, hello Sunday team. We are now tied in last place. We have a feeling you will blow buy us this weekend. Isn’t it fantastic how well the beach is doing with nests! Once again, it was a beautiful morning on the beach, perfect weather and no bugs! Mostly beautiful because we finally got more nests than non-nesting crawls. We ended the morning with 3 nests in zone 2 and a nest and a non-nesting crawl in zone 3. The nest in zone 3 was quite the wanderer, check out Buddy’s dro

Busy mama turtles trying to find the perfect spot!
A day late with the report but Tuesday Turtlers had a busy day with 5 NNC's. One was a doozy with our girl going over the dune (and fence) and into the inner dune area. Wandered around, went back up, then back down and finally exited the long way! Hopefully she is successful in the next couple of days! What's with all the non nesting
After Tuesday's 7 non nesting crawls with no nests. Wednesday was expecting lots of nests . Unfortunately 2 nests with 5 non nesting crawls (NNC). Though nor'easter ripping down the beach erased any tracks or body pits that were in soft sand. We could have some surprise hatching in coming months. Zone 6 also got in the game with it's first activity of the season . A nest

We were hoping for more...
Non nesting crawl in zone 5 on lil hunting Nest #47🐢 It was another quiet morning for Thursday. We got word of a NNC on Little Hunting early on and we had hoped that was a sign of thin gs to come. We came upon a beautiful crawl in zone 2 but, not for a lack of trying, there was not a nest to locate. 🥺 As the tide went down Buddy was able to get Caretta to the south end of the beach and found nest #47! This nest was relocated to the dunes in zone 4.
