Wednesday Walk

No turtle activity today on the beach ~ The Nest count remains at 2. Maybe tomorrow we will get nest #3 !

Team A saw a few pairs of mating horseshoe crabs in zone 1. Horseshoe crabs mate in our area May - June and the fertilized eggs hatch 14-30 days later. The larvae will emerge from the sandy beaches and enter the water during a high tide nearly a month later. The larvae look like miniature tailless adult horseshoe crabs!

see you next week on the beach 🏝️
