Wednesday beach stroll

It was an overcast and rainy morning. The rain held off while volunteers patrolled the beach. Not much action on the beach. One non nesting crawl. Looks like momma hit a log and made a quick turnaround back to the ocean !

This weeks reminder:

Volunteers continue to fill in holes and knock down piles of sand most likely left from sandbags holding down beach goers sun canopies. Please remember to fill in holes - and knock those sand mounds down ! Sand piles can block hatchlings trying to make it to the ocean and disorient them.

Garbage was everywhere in zone 3. 80+ pieces of garbage in zone 3 alone. Items picked up included food wrappers, plastic straws, cigarette butts, beer cans, flip flops, rubber gloves, towel, feminine hygiene, and balloons. 😕😢

PACK IT IN - PACK IT OUT.

Not only is it harmful to our wildlife, no one wants to sit on the beach looking at your trash. We can do better.

A creative sand sculpture !

Sea you on the beach 🌊 ~
