UPDATE : from FOHI Facebook page: “Nest 21 was found on Russ Point this afternoon by a fisherman, who reported it to the Nature Center. Although a raccoon made off with a few eggs, the rest were saved. The last time a sea turtle nested at Russ Point was 2012!”
Wednesday turtle team volunteers did not have any activity today. The nest count remains at 20. The beach was windy and cool - and the surf was rough at low tide. We had a beautiful sunrise! There were still some pairs of mating horseshoe crabs in zone 1.
Hoping next week is our lucky day!
Sea you on the beach!
