Wednesday is for turtles

It was a PERFECT morning on the beach.. the weather was cool.. and the bugs were no where to be found thanks to the breeze. As our turtle season winds down the turtle patrol volunteers continue to walk the beach and check the remaining nests for signs of emergence (hatching). This picture shows a hole in the top of the nest where hatchlings have dug themselves out.

We continue to clean up trash as we patrol the beach, fill in holes, and knock down sandcastles that may be hazards for hatchlings trying to make their way to the ocean.

see you on the beach 🏝️

📸 the pictures were taken by permitted volunteers under permit 2023-MTP537 , following all rules and guidelines. Only permitted individuals are allowed to engage in sea turtle conservation activities.
