Birds rule the first nest in Zone 1. Sea turtle tracks with a significant differential led into the DNR marked off bird sanctuary, into a dune with visible thrown sand and noticeable body pit, for us volunteers to photograph from afar as it is illegal to enter this area. After the bird nesting season is over and the turtle nest hatches, an inventory will be performed. The DNA submitted will possibly identify the affectionately named, Queenie.
