Sun Rises and Litter Down

Monday’s team feeling blue - no nests today but 3 non-nesting crawls. It looked like 2 of them may have been scared by people on the beach. The sun rise was brilliant, there was a nice breeze, a low tide and it was great having a low trash load today (rain yesterday must have kept all but diehards away).

The last 2 days have had no nests on Hunting Island. While not unusual, it certainly puts the 2024 nesting season behind the record year of 2022, though we are still ahead of the pace set by the top nesting season of 2023. And we hand off to Tuesdays…..
