first graph - total nests for each year with a 5 yr running average. The low nesting years keep getting higher. Next year should be a very good year if history holds. The running average will always bounce around but the trend is still up. I picked a running average of about 2 times what a nesting cycle of a turtle
second graph -Interesting that at about 30 -35 days into the season you see the yearly totals start to separate. in other words, you can probably tell from the trace of total nests in a season at about 30 days, if it will be a high nesting season. Caveat - this is based 8 years of observations. Don't know if that changes every year. Kind of obvious. More nests at year end, more nests earlier in the year. Clearly see the fall off in nests in June timeframe for 2025
third graph - this plot highlights the point above. That after 30 days you can have a intelligent guess of total nests for the season.
