Nests and babies and cages, oh my!

2 more nests for the team from Wednesday! They are once again tied as top dog with 22 nests for the year. One nest was found in zone one, and needed relocated. Same with the nest that had been laid in the remnants of cabin road in zone 4. Zone 2 had a non-nesting crawl. Nest 5 out in zone 6 hatched, with a bunch of little tracks heading out to the ocean.

Thanks to the awesome number of volunteers who came out after patrol to help build cages. We were able to get 24 cages finished in a little over two hours, and it was all because of your efforts. Thanks again!

Last Nest of this Season!

The last nest of the season has hatched. This morning Buddy and I checked it out. There were not that many tracks. Perhaps more came out earlier, but the wind blew away the evidence. More may come

A bald eagle was spotted in Zone 4

Just happened to look up and saw the eagle on the top branch of a dead tree. Since there were very few nests to check, it was a surprise to catch a look. Hope it is here to stay.
