A nice morning on the beach today! Overcast skies and a breeze made it more comfortable.
We had another nest hatch in zone 2…
Look closely at the photo below and you can see all the baby turtle tracks!
Some mornings when we patrol the beach and check on our nests, we see footprints from others that have walked the beach earlier than our team has gotten there. (And we are out there Early!). Sometimes we see deer tracks… or dog tracks. This morning we see that a racoon checked on the nest before we could. (Luckily the racoon kept moving and didn’t disturb the nest!)
You can see the raccoon tracks in the sand leading up to the nest.
It is still really important that people keep lights off at night , fill in holes, and carry out your trash !
