Another busy day

Wednesday had 4 nests, starting with a multi-body pit in zone 3. It ended up being nest 81, and was left in situ. 82 was found out in zone 6, and had to be relocated. 83 was located in the remnants of cabin road in zone 4, another multi- body pit, and was left in situ. The last, 84, was in zone 5, in the area which I guess I'll call Lagoon Beach, and was another multi pit, which included mama attempting to nest under a fallen tree. Add a non nesting crawl in 6, and that sums up to be a great day!

2021 Sea Turtle Project Update

The registration for the 2021 Sea Turtle Conservation Project is on hold until the Department of Natural Resources provides Covid guidelines to all South Carolina nesting projects.

Last Nest of this Season!

The last nest of the season has hatched. This morning Buddy and I checked it out. There were not that many tracks. Perhaps more came out earlier, but the wind blew away the evidence. More may come

A bald eagle was spotted in Zone 4

Just happened to look up and saw the eagle on the top branch of a dead tree. Since there were very few nests to check, it was a surprise to catch a look. Hope it is here to stay.
