Wednesday on a Thursday !

Late post... Wednesday was a quiet day on patrol …the weather was cool, low humidity, and a slight breeze.. After patrol volunteers conducted a nest inventory on nest #129 that was over 70 days old. The nest was thought to have hatched but no visible tracks had been spotted. (Due to recent rains this makes it difficult to find hatchling tracks!) Volunteers were happy to report that N#129 did in fact hatch , as there was evidence of hatched eggs, a few unhatched eggs, and ONE LIVE HATCHLING STILL IN THE NEST 🥰

What a wonderful surprise ! Little guy (or girl) was later released to start the long journey ahead. 💚

until next time~

🐢🏖️ see you on the beach!
