Another way to support Hunting Island is to purchase a special Hunting Island license plate. Friends of Hunting Island will receive more than $45 of the $50 fee (for two years). Over the years, the license plate fundraiser has become a substantial revenue stream for our work at the park.
The easily recognized plate, with artwork by local artist Nancy Ricker Rhett, provides greater visibility for the park and identifies you as a Friend of Hunting Island.
Having this beautiful license plate displayed on your vehicle is just one more way to show you care about preserving and enhancing Hunting Island State Park for future generations. Note: the $50 fee is in addition to your regular SC plate and tag fees.
It is not necessary to wait until your old plate comes due for renewal. You can purchase the Hunting Island license plate today and DMV will pro-rate your cost. Proceeds come directly to Friends of Hunting Island for our on-going projects at the Park. All SCDMV offices carry forms for special license plates.Or you may download the form here: Specialty Plate.
We need only two things to provide the services and projects you see described on this website: your participation and your tax-deductible membership fees. For one $40 membership contribution, you and your family can join Friends of Hunting Island and have unlimited access to the park for one year. All members are encouraged to participate in any of our on-going projects. If you do not wish to join, but want to donate to our efforts, click here to make a tax-deductible donation to the Friends of Hunting Island.
